Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless : : Female (spayed) : : Senior : : Medium
Sweet senior girl Tali has gone through some huge changes in her family home and is no longer happy & comfortable there. Tali wishes for a quiet, calm home to live out her senior years, she just turned 11. A retired person/couple wanting a loyal, cuddle companion is the ideal home for her, with no small, or active children to disrupt her rest time. Visiting grandchildren would be fine for her. Xolos are super companions for those who want a devoted dog, extremely loyal, very loving an affectionate and do not require much exercise. Tali is house trained and good with most other dogs, although she will take over the dominant role if there is not an alpha leader. She loves nothing more than snuggling under a blanket in her mom's lap. She does require weekly skin care and daily protection, special food ideal for her skin and teeth. The Mexican Hairless lives about a 12-15 years and requires protection from both overheating and cooling. This breed requires a sweater in cool weather and needs protection from sunburn. All must be protected from excessive sunlight, heat and cold, and all have dental problems related to their hairless condition. These curious dogs are amongst the only canines who sweat through their skin. Their body temperatures tend to be higher than predicted as well. This dog breed requires attention from family members, who will be rewarded with a loving and devoted companion.
