This beauty, known as Mackenzie, found herself alone, hungry, and scared along a busy highway...she waited there patiently for ~3 weeks, hoping her owner would return for her, trusting no other human and only wanting to go home. Sadly, her owner left her there never to return, but eventually her hunger took over and she was trapped and taken to animal control, only to once again find herself alone and scared.

Mackenzie only spent one night at the animal control shelter and is now in a loving foster home where she has learned very quickly that her new humans are wonderful and love and attention come freely. She adjusted very quickly to her new home and yard, but leaving the safe zone she knows is still a little scary-she simply buries her nose in between your legs, begging for safety. The outside world that she knew alone for so long is now very scary for her, since being in a secure home environment. She will learn the good side of life with a little patience and understanding though, she has already grown leaps and bounds in 2 weeks!

Mackenzie is a very gentle, loving girl who will bond very closely with her family and forever home. She is learning to play with other dogs-small ones are a little harder for her to understand how to play gently ;) but she's working on it. She is very obedient and like all German Shepherds-too smart for her own good sometimes but very rewarding to train! So far so good with house training and she has mastered crate training.
