Wyatt is going to be a wonderful companion dog . He is a collie/ lab/golden mix who will be a medium-to-large sized dog when fully grown. As he becomes more fit, he will be a moderately active dog who would enjoy outdoor activities but would also be happy playing quietly at his owner’s feet or cuddling on the sofa. Wyatt is extremely smart , eager to please, friendly and people - focused , and good around cats and other dogs. He has not spent much time around children, but would likely do well with them. He doesn’t mind his nails being trimmed and, al though he came from a food-scarce situation, he is not possessive of his food.
Wyatt is a bit of a toy thief and hoarder who is learning how much fun it is to play with others. He is reliably crate trained and, if his humans remember to get him outside regularly, is good about pottying outside. He is learning basic puppy manners like sitting on command—he’s very good at that—and not jumping up o n people o r barking for attention , which is a work in progress . He likes being close to his human , so already follows eagerly on a leash and comes when called. His willingness to do whatever is asked of him will be easy to formalize with practice, so a new owner should plan on continuing regular dog training activities. Most important, Wyatt needs to learn that his humans will love him forever. A new owner will want to work on building his confidence and encourag ing him to be appropriately independent.
