Sammie

Sammy took a little time to get acclimated to a new home and a new sister, but he adjusted just fine. His health has improved greatly. When I adopted him he was recovering from a broken hip and worms, and was 2-3 lbs. underweight. We could barely even see his hips, he had no muscle at all. As you can see from the pictures, though, he has filled out and his coat has grown in really thick. He now weighs a whopping 11.3 lbs and has no arthritis pain that I can tell. In the winter he does enjoy napping on a heating pad, though, and he loves to play in warm laundry. The only holdover from his earlier days is that he still pees as a defense mechanism if he feels threatened at all (i.e. if he needs his nails clipped.) But I can live with that, as it doesn't happen often.
